In this post i will talking on the the rules of the game.

As mentioned in previous post, the objective of the game is to outscore one's opponents by throwing the ball through the opponents' basket from above while preventing the opponents from doing so on their own.
Games are played in four quarters of 10 (international) or 12 minutes (NBA). Teams exchange baskets for the second half.Five players from each team (out of a twelve player roster) may be on the court at one time. Substitutions are unlimited but can only be done when play is stopped.
For both men's and women's teams, a standard uniform consists of a pair of shorts and a jersey with a clearly visible number, unique within the team, printed on both the front and back.
The ball may be advanced toward the basket by being shot, passed between players, thrown, tapped, rolled or dribbled (bouncing the ball while running. The ball must stay within the court; the last team to touch the ball before it travels out of bounds forfeits possession.
An attempt to unfairly disadvantage an opponent through physical contact is illegal and is called a foul. These are most commonly committed by defensive players; however, they can be committed by offensive players as well. Players who are fouled either receive the ball to pass inbounds again, or receive one or more free throws if they are fouled in the act of shooting, depending on whether the shot was successful. One point is awarded for making a free throw, which is attempted from a line 15 feet (4.6 m) from the basket.

Well, thats about all the basic rules and regulations of the game and i will be ending my post here.
ps. I have found a secondary school friend who is free during our term break and will be teaching me.

I'm going to write a short history about the game basketball so that we can understand it better

Dr. James Naismith, a Canadian physical education professor, sought a vigorous indoor game to keep his students occupied and at proper levels of fitness during the long New England winters. He rejected several ideas which were too rough or too poorly suited. He wrote the basic rules and nailed a peach basket to a 10-foot elevated track. Unlike modern basketball, the baskets retained its bottom and the balls have to be retrieved manually after every shot. The peach baskets were used until 1906 when they were finally replaced by metal hoops with backboards. A further change was made, which made way for the modern game we know now. The first official game was played in the YMCA gymnasium on January 20, 1892 with nine players. By 1897–1898 teams of five became standard.

Today i'm going to give an introduction on Basketball.

Basketball is a team sport in which two teams of five active players each try to score points against one another by placing a ball through a 10 feet (3.048 m) high hoop (the goal) under organized rules. Basketball is one of the most popular and widely viewed sports in the world.

Points are scored by shooting through the hoops and the team with the most points win. Basketball is advanced through dribbling of the ball across the courts. Fouls are commited when there is rough treatment or disruptive physical contacts.

While competitive is being played in indoor courts, it is becoming increasingly popular to play it in outdoor courts.
